As winter begins to fade away, it’s time to get our outfits geared for warmer weather and add cheery tones and patterns to our wardrobe. The color matching company Pantone is predicting two colors to be on trend this spring; a light pastel called rose quartz and a soft baby blue dubbed serenity. Both hues pair nicely with the spring fashion staple: floral print.
Other prints to consider adding to the mix are tribal print or any type of stripes. Easy and comfortable clothes are expected during the spring so pull out your sundresses, long shirts with leggings, or even jeans and a blouse, as long as they are modest and don’t draw negative attention. Unspoken style rules seem to loom over military functions, but springtime casual outfits are the easiest to master. Anything flowing and soft tends to be presentable. For example, tunic- or boyfriend-style tops, long pastel skirts, sundresses or skater dresses with leggings look nice at any event.
- No need for heels! Flats and sandals work great during the spring and eliminate discomfort.
- Layers are important during the spring, especially in the South where the weather is unpredictable. Light cardigans, thin jackets, hoodies or even a long sleeve shirt that can be easily removed are all great options.
